Alexandra Neighbourhood House is a constituent unit of the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of BC .
Alexandra Neighbourhood House provides opportunities for people to gather, grow and build a spirit of community.
Alexandra Neighbourhood House has the following goals, which it undertakes in keeping with Alexandra Neighbourhood House values and available resources:
To develop, implement and evaluate camping and community-based programs in response to community needs and opportunities.
To provide community-building events that enable community members to develop mutually supportive relationships and that enable newcomers to feel at home in their community.
To provide accommodation, facility and catering services that support individual well-being and family, community and organizational life.
To exercise a community leadership role in collaboration with other community organizations, residents, governments and other stakeholders.
To encourage and provide opportunities for community members to engage in the life of their community through leadership development, community development and volunteer participation.
To advocate on behalf of communities for policies and services that ensure more equitable access to resources and opportunities.
To act as good stewards of the historical legacy of Camp Alexandra.
